This morning we had breakfast in the hotel. A very “English-style” breakfast – I had a croissant with the most delicious strawberry jam, coffee, fruit, and yogurt from France that was so much better than what we have in the US. We hurried to Buckingham Palace to see the Changing of the Guards. Unfortunately, there was no changing of the guards today because of the weather. I did enjoy seeing the Queen’s Palace and some of the guards on horse back. Then, we walked through St. James Park to get to Big Ben and Westminster Abby. Princess Diana’s funeral was held at Westminster Abby. Big Ben is a huge clock that is located by Parliament. After seeing the beautiful church, we went just a short distance to the London Eye. This is a huge Farris wheel. You can see all of London from this Farris wheel. After our long morning we grabbed a sandwich and then headed back to the hotel to relax for a while. We had a good long nap and then went to church at Holy Trinity Brompton. The service was excellent. It was their more contemporary service so there were instruments and such but the music was awesome. Many of the songs I did not recognize but they did sing How Great is Our God. Mrs. Warren gave the sermon this evening – crazy, huh? She is the wife of Rick Warren who wrote The Purpose Driven Life and is from the US. I go all the way across the ocean and I am still connected to the US. Cool! I was starved after church was over so we went to dinner at Waggamama’s, an Asian style restaurant.
