I met Tiffany at the airport and after tube ride and three bus rides/changes we made it to our hotel. Whew! All that walking up and down stairs made me tired and it was just the beginning. After we dropped off my luggage we headed out to get some breakfast. We ate at this really cute little café called the 202. I had the pancakes with fruit compote and crème fraises. Delicious but it should have been since it cost me 7 pounds (that would be $15 US dollars). That was the most expensive two little pancakes that I have ever had. Luckily, Tiffany advised me to just ask for “tap water” because I was going to get some coffee (!$5!) I did enjoy watching all the little families come in for brunch. The little kids all bundled in their coats, hats, & scarves were so cute. I love the strollers the moms use here. They are more like modern day baby carriages. After breakfast we went to Knotting Hill and headed down Portobello Road, the oldest open-air market in the world. The fruits, vegetables, and olive oils looked so fresh and delicious. We tried some infused olive oil that was terrific. We found some neat antiques as well. The rest of the day we got checked into the hotel, went and got Tiffany’s luggage from her friend Rachel’s flat, and browsed around Harrods, a very upscale- “Neiman Marcus” type place. For dinner we headed out for Pizza at Da Mario – Superb! This is the pizza place that Princess Diana frequented. After dinner we decided to stop and get one of the chocolate crepes that Tiffany loves. I’ll have to admit it was pretty tasty - ½ white chocolate and ½ milk chocolate with banana. By the time we got back I was ready to hit the sack as it had been a very long day.
