Gruene, TX

On Valentines weekend we decided to take a little road trip down Hwy 281 to Gruene, Texas. Just our little family. We stopped at several of our favorite places on the way; Koffee Kup Restaurant in Hico and Coming Home in Lampasas and then a new spot, The Deutsch Apple Bakery in Blanco. We stayed in a hotel Saturday night and the kids got to see their cousin Jasmine and go swimming. Then Sunday we headed over to Gruene to enjoy some good ole' gospel singing at the Gruene Hall. The Sweetheart Gospel Brunch catered by the Gristmill was delicious & the singing was great! If you are ever looking for a cheap weekend getaway with your husband Gruene is a great place to go.

The kids received some Valentines money and it was of course burning a hole in their pocket so we took them to the general store and they found some treats. Here my Indian Chief, Little Brown Eyes, is trying to escape the nasty blade of Warrior Triston.
