Travels in London - Day 7

Today we had breakfast in the hotel and then went to the Tower of London and the Tower Bridge, formerly known as the London Bridge. Triston – remember the song, “London Bridge is falling down?” The Bridge was magnificently huge. I am glad that I got to see it as I have a thing for old bridges. I just like the character they add to a place. After sightseeing at the bridge we did a little shopping and antiquing and then went for lunch at Tom’s. After lunch we decided to go for one last walk in Hyde Park. I got a picture of the Peter Pan statue I was telling you about, Triston. Then we did a little more shopping and browsing. Late in the afternoon we headed to the hotel to rest for a bit and watch some TV. For dinner we were invited to the home of one of the administrators of the Pepperdine House here in London. Tomisina provided a delicious meal of salmon, snow peas, and potatoes along with wine and bread. For dessert she had rhubarb crisp with vanilla ice cream. It was so good. Of course, after dessert we had a cup of English tea and I have to say it was really good. As the British would say, “The meal and conversation was absolutely lovely.”
